Take off, text and talk.
Mobile OnAir enables passengers to use their GSM mobile phones inflight, after takeoff and before landing. The service supports voice communications and text messaging (SMS), as well as Mobile Data.
Mobile OnAir works in the same way as roaming abroad with the passenger being billed by their own mobile operator. To use the service, passengers with an international roaming subscription simply switch on their phones on a Mobile OnAir-enabled aircraft.
OnAir can automatically send a "welcome SMS" to all GSM devices that successfully connect to the OnAir network, informing the users that they can now use their phone.
Retail prices are set by the Mobile Network Operators with whom OnAir has international roaming agreements.
The airline receives a share of the revenue generated by the GSM usage.
